A safe and dignified school starts with the basics. We build and renovate classrooms and toilets so students have a proper place to learn, feel secure and stay in school. When the physical environment improves, attendance increases and students are better able to focus and learn. In Kenya, we built through verified and trusted local contractors.

Every school has different challenges, whether they are located in the Maasai Mara or close to Mount Kenya. Besides the fundamentals, we fund the facilities they need most, from dormitories for students who travel far, to kitchens that support school meals, fencing that improves safety, and housing that helps attract and retain teachers. These investments make schools stronger and more reliable.

Learning requires the right tools. We provide schools with science equipment, tablets and books that support practical and engaging lessons. This allows students to explore, experiment and apply what they learn, while building the skills needed for further education and future opportunities.

Strong learning starts with strong teachers. We train and support teachers to deliver engaging lessons, strengthen subject knowledge and create inclusive classrooms. We use Teach 2030 as the platform for our Teachers Training in Kenya. Through ongoing coaching and follow up, teachers gain the confidence and tools to improve learning outcomes for every student.

Education is closely linked to stability at home. Through the micro entrepreneurship programme, we support parents to start and grow small businesses. Increased income makes it easier for families to prioritise education, reducing dropout and helping children stay in school. The program is centered around a saving and loans group that is run by the local community in coordination with our team.

Training teachers is essential, but targeted support for students is just as important. We provide additional support through literacy programmes and the development of social and emotional skills. This helps students catch up where needed, build confidence and stay engaged in their education. In Kenya, we also address the barriers that prevent many girls from staying in school. By supporting safe learning environments and strengthening confidence and life skills, we help ensure that more girls are able to continue their education and reach their full potential.

Digital skills open new pathways. Our IT academy trains young people in practical skills that connect them to online work and global opportunities. This enables them to earn an income locally while building independence and long term career prospects. The IT academy is located in Maasai Mara, and prioritizes giving girls access to the job market.
