One2one, 2023 by Karl Norin

Karl Norin (b. 1982, Sweden) and completed an MFA at the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm 2013.

Fascinated by tactile materials such as old rugs and faux fur Norin has developed his own technique of rendering found textiles into painterly abstractions. Through an elaborate process he moulds found textile materials in plastic which creates lusciously evocative abstractions. Rather than using paint to depict an object, he uses objects to create painting. His works is not concerned with tradition but instead seeks to explore new and imaginative possibilities of abstraction.

Norin’s work has been exhibited at Belenius, Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum and Carl Kostyál in Stockholm as well as Bill Brady in Miami. His work
is included in the SEB Collection in Stockholm.
